Fertility Center and Applied Genetics of Florida, Inc. provides the
most advanced treatments to assist patients with reproductive problems. It
is understood that infertility consultation and treatment can be
very stressful. Experience has shown that a large part of this
stress can be alleviated if patients are well informed and if their
questions are answered in a timely fashion. Our patients receive personal attention that is rare
in today's medical practices. By controlling the volume of
the practice, Dr. Pabon assures
that all patients in treatment receive the attention they require.
Fertility Center and Applied Genetics of Florida, Inc. has
an in-office "in vitro" fertilization
laboratory capable of prolonged pre-embryo culture and micromanipulations
such as intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI), assisted hatching and pre-embryo biopsies (PGD). In
addition, there is an andrology and cryobiology laboratory. The
Fertility Center and Applied Genetics of Florida, Inc. is accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Health Care
Organizations (JCAHO) and
is registered with the American Society of Reproductive Medicine
(A.S.R.M.) and the Society for Assisted Reproductive Technology (S.A.R.T.).
Dr. Pabon, the medical and laboratory director,
is a Board Certified Reproductive Endocrinologist & Infertility
Specialist. He is a fellow of the American College of Obstetrics & Gynecology
(A.C.O.G.), an active member of the Society for Reproductive Endocrinology
(S.R.E.), an active member of the Society for Assisted Reproductive
Technology (S.A.R.T.), a member of the European Society for Human
Reproduction & Embryology (ESHRE) and a member of the Florida
Society for Reproductive Endocrinology & Infertility.
The goal of the practice is dual: to be a World Class Center for
Assisted Reproductive Technologies and to provide very personal care to patients suffering from infertility, recurrent pregnancy loss
and associated conditions like endometriosis.
A very active egg
donor program and gestational
carrier program is maintained.
Dr. Pabon is one of a handful of gynecologic surgeons who perform
outpatient tubal reversals.
Excellence is our primary goal.
Since the beginning of the operation of the Fertility Center of
Sarasota in July of 1998 and at the time of this publication, greater
than 50% of our patients have achieved a pregnancy. Individual
chance of success depends on the age of the female partner and the
specific diagnosis. Patients younger than 35 have over a 65%
chance of pregnancy in a single attempt. This has been achieved
without a single triplet or higher order pregnancy in this age group. A
couple's individual probability of success depends chiefly on the
youth and health of the female partner's eggs.
The Fertility Center and Applied Genetics of Florida, Inc. is one of the first IVF centers
to offer blastocyst transfer. Most IVF programs transfer
the pre-embryos at very early stages. High numbers of pre-embryos
are routinely transferred because of the difficulty in determining
the true quality of pre-embryos early in culture. As the technology
and the embryo culture media has improved, we have been able to extend
the time of culture from the third day to the fifth or sixth day
after fertilization. This is the time when the pre-embryo of
excellent quality will reach the blastocyst stage, which is
the immediate pre-implantation stage. By allowing pre-embryos
to mature for a longer period, we are able to choose fewer pre-embryos
for implantation. This diminishes the risk of triplet and higher
order pregnancies. 85% of our pregnancies are singleton.
The anesthesiology team is Kemplin Anesthesia Group, Board Certified Physician Anesthesiologists.
